HISTORY
Founded in 1997 by Christo Steenkamp, Bambisana Holdings (Pty) Ltd. was built with team work, hard work and the strength and spirit of entrepreneurship
Qualis Trading is founded in Pretoria. Moves to a small warehouse in Isando, rented from Agrinet, with whom a supply agreement is signed to develop a comprehensive electrical range for the agricultural market under their house brand Kaufmann.
Moves to a bigger warehouse in Meadowdale.
Amp-U-Corp is founded and buys the trading activities of Qualis Trading and
R & L Electronics. Moves to bigger warehouse in New Town and enters the
mass retail market. Arnold Sharp joins the company as fellow shareholder.
Signs a distributor agreement with Philips SA for the independent retail
market in South Africa.
Amp-U-Corp sells a record number of CFL lamps into the agricultural
sector of the South African market.
Amp-U-Corp is a ‘supplier of the year finalist’ to Agrinet 4 years in a row.
Bambisana Holdings (Holdings & Administrative) and Amplux (Distributor) are
founded. Amplux signs a distributor agreement with Philips SA for the retail market
in South Africa. Amplux – distributor to mass retail, Amp-U-Corp – distributor to
independent retail. Amplux and Amp-U-Corp become subsidiaries of Bambisana
Holdings. Moves to a bigger warehouse in Denver. Mario Biagi joins Amplux as
sales and marketing executive.
Bambisana Holdings buys Sebor Manufacturing (injection moulding
facility) and Kopp Precision Engineering (property).
Distributor agreement with Philips SA is terminated. Start to build direct relationships with Chinese manufacturers and major local retailers.
Bambisana Holdings buys Gro Organic Fertilizers
Bambisana Holdings signs sole distributor agreement with
Tramontina (garden tools) for the South African retail market.
Bambisana Holdings enters the professional lighting sector.
Restructuring of Bambisana Group – Amplux and Amp-U-Corp’s
trading activities are bought by Bambisana Distribution.
Bambisana Manufacturing buys Basics Housewares which includes 8 additional Injection moulding machines, 250 additional moulds for producing plastic homewares products and the Basics Homewares Registered Trademark.
STRUCTURE
Bambisana Manufacturing (plastic injection moulding products), Bambisana Distribution, and Bambisana Properties are wholly owned subsidiaries of Bambisana Holdings.
Custom plastic injection moulding manufacturing. We offer a full service from product design to plastic injection mould design and manufacturing and plastic injection moulding.
Importing, distribution and warehousing of retail goods throughout South Africa and Sub-Saharan Africa.
Commercial property rental.
